In 2149, a relatively long time from now, terra nova is formed. It is formed as a result of the dying earth and scientists find a way of saving the human race by taking man 85 million years back- to the prehistoric age. This is the age where man lived a primitive life among dinosaurs and he had to survive. It is hoped that at terra nova, man will find a way to survive and ultimately save humanity.

The Terra Nova story begins in 2149. It centers on the Shannon family. Elizabeth Shannon is a well known doctor who is tasked with the treatment of people at the new world called terra nova. It is, however, not easy to reach terra nova and the Shannon’s together with other pigrims have to overcome several obstacles in order to get to the prehistoric earth.
