There are a lot of people who look to add on as many certifications and other degrees that allow them to look more employable in the long run. In reality, people who have more certifications sometimes can look over-qualified, making them less employable in the long run. If you’re going to get a certification, the PMP certification is a good choice, but not for everybody.

This particular certification is for people who have had experience in project management. It’s the highest level of recognition offered by people who know their way around the field and have been in the trenches long enough to know how things work.

It takes a significant amount of effort to make sure that you have the ability to pass the test, but it’s something that’s definitely worth working towards. You get higher rates of pay and more respect. Just remember, it’s something you go for only if you have experience, not if you’re a fresh graduate.
